William McIlraith born about 1795 from Lyle Hill in Antrim, married to Jane McIlraith. He had a son William who married Barbara McCulloch. In 1861 together with his soms William, Daniel & Gilbert they sailed from bristol on "Rhea Silvia" to New Zealand. Verbal family history says that he left his wife Barbara in Ireland + possibly two daughters. They never returned to Ireland. Their occupatione were ploughmen & farm labourers. The youngest Daniel was 16 on arrival in New Zealand
