I am looking for any information on my GG Grandparents Patrick McMahon (born in 1818) and Maria (Mary) Corbett. (born in Apr, 1826) both in County Clare. I believe they were married in 1846 in County Clare and immigrated to the US in 1848. They lived in Manitowoc County, Wisconsin. Patrick died there on Dec. 27, 1886 and Mary died there on Feb. 19, 1911.

I do not have any records of their birth or wedding or who there parents were. It's possible Patrick was from Tulla but I dod not know for sure. Any information on either of these two would be very welcome.

    I searched two subscription sites- Roots Ireland and FindMyPast and did not find the marriage record in Co. Clare. There are a number of parishes that have marriage records starting 1850 or later (at least 12 parishes) so I can only assume that the marriage was in one of those parishes.

    I also searched on Ancestry.com and looked at the 1870 and 1880 census records but found no clues on location in Ireland. It appears all of their children were born in America. There was a Shanahan Family Tree on Ancestry which includes Patrick McMahon and Mary Corbett but again no additional clues.

  • Thank you for your searches and I have done a DNA test but it does not give me a lot info other then my relatives are from County Clare and Monaghan.
