Hello!

In March, my family and I will be traveling to the area to locate a grave in Thomastown for the parents or siblings of Anthony O’Donovan (b approx 1791 in Tipperary, d 1873 in Madison, WI). We’ve been led to believe that their graves are in an old cemetery on the north side of the road in or near Thomastown, off the road back in some fields. We are also trying to track down his wife’s family. Her name was Margaret Finn (b approx 1808) they had 6 children: Mary (b 1826), Patrick (b 1829), Anthony (b 1831), Michael (b 1833), Margaret (b 1836), Elizabeth (b 1839).

Any help would be appreciated!

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

We don't have a parish liaison in Relickmurry and Athassel civil parish. However, I will contact a parish liaison from a parish further south in Co. Tipperary to see if he can assist.

  • Fantastic, Roger!

Thank you!  I have details about Anthony & his family, records we've dug up over the years, if that'll be of any help.

  • Hi Trish!

Did you see the record that I posted on FB related to your question?  You asked about the leasing document for Anthony O’Donovan. Here’s a link:

    # 42 & # 43 are our family.

Appreciate your help!  Apologies for coming at you from all sides!

  • Hi Thomas,

Yes - there’s a misspelling on the tithe applotment. No. 42 is likely our Anthony Donovan (Jnthy Doonaun on the link above).  I have a photocopy of what might be the original and to me it looks more like Anthy Doonivan.

I will call the center when we land in Ireland!  Thanks for the tip!
