  • Hi Linda:

I assume that you have the civil birth record from Irish genealogy?  If not, here is the link:

    Kind regards,

  • Found a possible lead for this Mary Ann - first in the 1871 census for England which shows a very good possible match for her with her family in Westminister London. Age is given as 2 and place of birth as Dublin, Ireland, mother's name as Ellen a variant of Eleanor - only problem is that her father is listed as as Daniel instead of Robert, his occupation is given as "Soldier, Guards" - maybe a mistake by the census enumerator ?. (Mary Anne's father is shown as Private in the Genader Guards, 3rd Batt. on the birth record) I think the chances of two Mary Anne Osbourne's born in Dublin c1869 with soldier father in a Guards Regiment would be extremely low...

The 1871 census shows some additional children Thomas, Joseph, Ellen and William - all born Middlesex, Chelsea for the first two and St. Giles for the other two. Parents places of birth are difficult to make out - looks like 'Bridgeford, D...' for Daniel (Poss. Robert) and '...ester, Northhamp.' for Ellen (Eleanor)

The next possible sighting of Mary Anne is in 1881 at the Guards Industrial Home, Vauxhall Bridge Road, London - maybe her parents had died ?
In 1891 there's a likely match for her working as a Lady's Maid in Knightsbridge, London. an Eleanor Osbourne of the right age to be her sister is in the same household working as a Nurse.

The last record I found was a marriage for Mary Anne Osbourne age 30 to William ... Holmes age 32 at St. Barnabas, Surrey Established Church (Church of England) on the 23rd September 1899. Her father's name is recorded as Robert Osborne, soldier (deceased)
