My husbands great grand parents, Cornelius & Mary O'Shea were married in Aglish Kerry on 8th Feb 1861. Their third child was born in Australia in 1865. Is there any way I can find or locate from which port they would have sailed from. Better yet would to be able to name the ship.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

More than likely they left from Queenstown but I'm not aware of a data base that we have the ship departure information. Have you looked at ships coming into Australia?

I looked for the baptismal records for the two older children born in Ireland. I found these two records Are these the records for the older children? If so, the third child would have been born 1866 or later.

  • Dear Roger

Thank you for your prompt reply to my query. The two older children were named Catherine and James. They were 4 & 2 1/2 when Daniel was born here in Australia. So I don't feel the above children belong to us. But thank you for your efforts.

I will also look up shipping information for Queenstown as a starting point.

    Kind regards
