PATRICK GALLAGHER b. circa 1870 Milltown

I looked for civil birth index records for Patrick in the Tuam registration district and found one for 1872. Not sure if this is your Patrick but this was the only record close to 1870. I also looked for a marriage index record for Michael and Catherine with no success.

I also went on www.familysearch.org and looked for children born to Michael Gallagher and Catherine Gowland and only found two Bridget born 8/6/1869 and Peter born 7/10/1874. The fact that Bridget was born in 8/1869 makes it more likely (but not impossible) that Patrick was not born in 1870. You can get a copy of the birth record for Patrick by writing to the GRO www.welfare.ie/en/Pages/Apply-for-Certificates.aspx

The site is down currently. When it is working, print the English birth form (If you get a screen asking for User Name and Password hit cancel) fill out the form and provide the volume and page number ( 9 and 605). You can have them e-mail the copy to you. A copy costs around 4 euros.
