  • Mallow Cork

2 possible matches for the year 1845, with parents Ann and Patrick , at www.rootsireland a pay to view the record site

1 Patrick Welsh baptised  in County Kildare -spelled Walsh

1 Patrick Welsh baptised  1845 County Mayo- spelled Walsh

No baptism record there for the name Welsh

    Mallow Cork

    I found the Mayo Patrick

I found the Mayo Patrick Welsh back in the 1871 UK census of Burnley Lancashire, so more then likely not your Patrick Welsh, leaves the Patrick Welsh from County Kildare

    Welsh

    Hi Mallow Cork

The one record i looked at was at roots ireland.

which i could only find a Patrick but no sisters with same parents : Bridget and Honor.

These two sisters from the 1861 census are doing their best to hide as i cant find them anywhere. Which leaves me with the question is the Patrick on the 1861 census i've found with two sisters mine or not.

    Information from roots ireland

     Name:Patrick Walsh       Date of Baptism:30-Mar-1845

    Address:Monasterevin Town  Parish/District:MONASTEREVIN

    County Co. Kildare

    Father Patrick Walsh

    Mother:Anne Egan

    Mallow Cork

There is a Honora Walsh born 1853 county Cork, parents Patrick and Ann

A Bridget Walsh with father Patrick Walsh and mother Ann Egan born in 1839 County Roscommon

Do the birth year of the girls above match ? The family might have traveled around

According to the Griffiths valuation taken between 1848 and 1864 these are the only Walshes left in Monasterevin, no Patrick anymore (http://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/kildare/monasterevin.htm)

Walsh Denis Clonegath Monasterevin Kildare Walsh Peter Barraderra Monasterevin Kildare Walsh Sarah Gorteenoona Monasterevin Kildare Walsh Thomas Clonegath Monasterevin Kildare Walsh William Grangecoor Monasterevin Kildare

Brian we also have a parish liason and messageboard for Monasterevin, you should leave a message there too :)  http://www.irelandxo.com/group/monasterevin-civilrc-parish-kildare

Brian you know that the dates on the census records can we way off ? I will check where in Cork Honora was born and see then, her parents are deffo Patrick Walsh and Anne Egan, unless we are dealing with a second couple with the same name who also called their daughter Honor (a)

BTW now I also found a William Walsh born to Patrick Walsh and Ann Egan, 1831 county Roscommon too.

Brigid as spelled in the baptism registration was baptised at St Peters (RC) Athlone county Roscommon in 1839 and so was  Patrick and Ann's  son William in 1831.

I hope we have the correct family

    Welsh

I have just found at rootsireland a

    Bridget Walsh

    Baptism 14/4/1844

    Baltracey

    Co Kildare

    RC

    Father Patrick Walsh

    Mother Anne Dunegan

The age of previous bridget i was trying to locate has a birth date of 1843 in the 1861 census

this one appears to match a little closer.

Mother Given as Anne Dunegan  and the Patrick Walsh info earlier gives mother Anne Egan

are these two mothers the same??

    Any help

    Thanks Brian
