I am very interested to learn more about my GGGrandmother Honora Reilly and her family.

I was very pleased to discover recently an article from "Sliabh Aughty" September 2011 (page 15) http://eastclareheritage.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Sliabh-Aughty-Vol-5-Pgs.-12-23.pdf  which indicates that the Honora (referred to in this article as "Nora") and her family came from Gort . She was born about 1847 in Gort and I think had a sister, Margaret born about 1838. I think her father was Patrick Reilly, a butcher and her mother was Margaret O'Rourke. Both Honora and her sister Margaret came to Australia but I don't have direct evidence of their departure or arrival. I have no other knowledge of her or the family in Ireland but Honora did marry William John Blake from "Blakemont" Co Clare at Ballarat, Victoria, Australian Colonies on 13/2/1866 and I am making enquiries about him elsewhere on this website.

The "Sliabh- Aughty" article refers to Mr Dermot Keran of George Street Gort and it is possible that he may be able to help if you were able to put me in contact with him.

I do have information on Honora and William and their descendants in Australia and I'd be very happy to share that with anyone interested.

Hoping you can help. Many thanks.

Peter
