Hello,
I would like to find anything in the local histories about my husband's line of Rice ancestors. His great grandfather was born Thomas Rice and changed to Royce in the U.S. His parents were Michael Rice and Catherine Flaherty. I have a few details from a newly discovered cousin. I would like to add more to that story.

Thank you. Carolyn Royce

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

Not sure what other info you have but I did locate the marriage record for the parents in 1871. The record shows the names of the fathers of the bride and groom.

I also found the 1901 census record for the family and Michael had a younger sister Clara. The record also shows that Catherine's mother was Johanna and her sister was a Johanna.

Here is the 1911 census record  http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Kerry/Ballyduff/Ballyd…

Let me know if you have any questions.
