My grandmonther, Elsie Nesbitt, born 1-24-1900, was the 12th of 13 children of John and Mary Anne Nesbitt of Knockbride County Cavan. My grandmother was working as a nurse in Belfast in 1924. She accompanied a patient to New Jersey and told me she lost her passage home. She met my grandfather, August Van Dessel, married and had 3 sons. She died in 1978. I have the family history that my uncle commissioned and was compiled by County Cavan Genealogical Research Centre. 

My grandmother's brother Benjamin Nesbitt, born 10-25-1891 - died 9-25-1956, is the only sibling for whom there is a marriage record. His wife was Margaret Nesbitt and their children were William Edward 8-31-2016, John 9-23-1917, Elsie 11-19-1919, MaryAnne 2-26-1921. I assume the other siblings are accessible by their married names and/or immigrated to other countries.

I do know that one of my grandmother's older sisters was married and worked in the kitchen at Slane Castle, where her husband was a game keeper. I traveled to Ireland with my parents in 1980. Their daugher/my grandmother's niece, Edie, was in her 70s and still living on the grounds of Slane Castle. We visited the family home, church and school. A cousin Edwin, was living alone at the farm and his sister Claudagh lived nearby with her family. 

I am interested in the lives and descendants of all the siblings: Ruth 4-1-1873, Mary Jane 7-18-1874, Sarah Elizabeth 12-11-1875 , Samuel James 3-25-1878, John William 6-3-1880, Thomas Robert 6-6-1882, Margaret Anne 7-5-1883, Agnes Edith10-25-1886, George Mortimer 6-30-1890, Albert Edward 1-31-1896 and Richard 7-5-1901.
