Thomas Aloysius Raleigh was born 8 July 1843 in LImerick. He is my mother's great grandfather. Any information you could give me would be most appreciated. I am coming to Ireland this summer and hope to see where my ancestors orginated from in Ireland.

Thanks for your assistance,

Susan Shannon Riederer

  • Margot,

I can go back two additional generations:

Edward Raleigh, birth - 1818 Limerick (Thomas Aloysius father), Married Bridget Theresa Russell at St John's R.C. Church, Limerick

Richard Raleigh, birth 2 Nov 1794, baptism 2 Nov 1794 at St Michael's , Limerick, Married Sally Rowe in 1815, married Eliza McKenny 18 JUL1832, St Munchin, Limerick, died, 14, Apr, 1874, buried Mt St Laurence Cemetary

Hope this is helpful and that we are connected.

  • Hi Susan,
    Thanks for the information.
In the Griffiths Valuation records Edward in St.John's landlord was John Russell. Two records for him.

Click in the "Larger Map" and zoom in, I should imagine that all this area has been re-developed but this is the road.
    I hope this helps.
