My Irish 2nd great grandfather Daniel Regan (1821-1895) was born in Dunmanway and emigrated to Canada with his parents & siblings in 1846. Somewhere along the way he married a Catherine (born abt. 1829) from Ireland and they had their first child in London, Ontario Canada in 1850. So far I have not found any records for this Catherine in Canada or Ireland. From the death records for her children her maiden name appears to be either Shedidan or Sheehan. I have always assumed Daniel & Catherine were married in Canada since Daniel Regan arrived in Canada in 1846 and their first chid was born in 1850, But I do not know if the came from different parts of Ireland and met in Canada, or knew each other in Dunmanway and either married before departure or in Canada. Any help or suggestion to help me find out more about Catherine woud be greatly appreciated.
Thanks ....... Rick

Dear Richard:
Thank you for your post to the IReland Reaching Out message board.
The church records for County Kerry and parts of Cork are available for free online through the Irish Genealogy website. I have pasted a link below having input the name "Daniel Regan" birth years of 1815-1830 and location of Dunmanway. You will note that there are 17 results. You might be interested to look at these.
In addition, I tried to search for a marriage for him and a Catherine Sheehan, but found nothing (other than a marriage in 1869 which would not fit). It would appear that they most likely married in Canada.
If you need further assistance, please let me know.
Kind regards,
Jane.
