Have been researching my family's history and am interested in finding any information on Stacy Granger McDaniel. He was born around 1769. Unable to find date of when he emigrated to the US or where from exactly. It's possible he went to Virginia since he was married in Orange Co. VA in 1799 to a Sarah Sally Lamb.
Unfortunately most Irish church records start around 1800 or after and civil registration did not start till 1864 in Ireland, had a quick look but could not find any irish record for this name. Also most passages onboard ships were not recorded yet at the time , the name though indicates Scots ancestry so Northern Ireland comes to mind.
