Looking for the names of parents of John Stutt and Agnes Parks. Agnes was born about 1841. She married John 21 June 1864 in Monahan. They became the parents of at least 5 children all born in Monaghan.

John, 17 May 1865, Alexander 10 Nov 1867, Martha Jane 3 Feb 1870, Anne Eliza 18 May 1872 and Samuel 20 Jul 1876.

Alexander immigrated to the United States and New York in 1888 with his sisters Martha Jane and Anne Eliza. He married my first cousin twice removed in 1896.

I would like to know the names of his parents on both sides.I suspect John's father was also a John and Agnes's father might have been Alexander who died in 1890.

Here is the 1864 civil marriage index record for John Stutt and Agnes Parker. You can get a copy of the record from the General Register Office. The record will show the names of the fathers of the bride and groom but not the mothers names. A copy costs around 4 euros. Instructions for getting a copy are below.

Go to this link http://www.welfare.ie/en/Pages/Apply-for-Certificates.aspx In the middle of the page there are links for birth, marriage or death certificates. Hit the link for the form you want. You will likely get a screen asking for a User Name and Password. (This is a program bug that the GRO has to correct). Hit cancel and the appropriate form should come up. Print the form and complete the requested information. Also provide the information from the index record--quarter/year of the event. registration district and the volume and page number where the event is recorded. Make sure you ask for a copy which costs around 4 euros. ( A cert costs closer to 20 euros). You can also ask the GRO to e-mail the copy back to you.
