I have located the marriage of Thomas and Ann on Catholic film (4235/06) at the NLI web site. I would like to locate the church that the marriage took place. Is there a way to find this out. It did not mention any names on the film.

The marriage took place on 2/11/1832.

Thank you

Mike

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

I located this article on the present church St. Columkille's in Ballinahown which dates back to 1902. The article mentions an earlier church building which is located to the west of the current church.

The parish church is located in Co. Westmeath although part of the parish is in Co. Offaly.

just to add the parish is listed on the NLI website as 'Balinahown & Lemanaghan/Lemanachan' after the town and adjacent civil parish it covered. In the late 1830s the parish had three chapels (see map image attached), one in the town of Moate, another in Ballynahown, and a third at Boggagh townland about half way between the two.
