  • Hi: My ancestors came from Northern Ireland and I believe it could be around Donegal, Ireland.  His name was Thomas Clarke born between 1811 - 1820?  He married a Mary Hynes born between 1820 - 1822?  They had a son named James Clarke born approx. 1845 and then immigrated to Canada about 1846 as their next son Thomas (my grandfather) was born between 1847 - 1855 and listed as being born in Canada.  I know the dates are a little confusing and they are to me also.  But Thomas Sr. might have come to Canada without his wife and son and found a farm in the Arthur On. area.  They might have been friends with people named Boyle as the Boyles came from Donegal, Ireland and I have connected a John Boyle and Thomas Clarke probably being at each others weddings and the list of other friends(?) are as: James Campbell, Catherine M'Cann, Sarah Duddy, Thomas Craig, James Daly, Ellen M"Cafferty.  The 1st two names are Thomas Clarke and John Boyle.  They are interchanged on each sheet as one sheet starts with Thomas Clarke and then John Boyle, the list of friends identical as the next sheet with John Boyle and then Thomas Clarke and identical list of friends.  The Registration District is Londonderry on both sheets, Volume 2, Page Number 213,  FHL Film Number 101253.  It is also listed under:  Ireland, Civil Registration Marriages Index, 1845-1958 - Ancestry.ca.  I am getting desperate to find where our ancestor's originated from as I am getting up in age and can not afford to travel there and I am not in the shape to do so either.

Any help would be greatly appreciatedL
