Edward Somers 1856 - 1943 & Bridget Doud 1853 - 1935
I'm trying to find the parents of my Maternal Grandparents above.
Edward Somers was born in Roscommon 1856. He died in Hollygrove, Killeroran, Galway. 1943
Bridget was born in Galway 1853. She too died in Hollygrove Killeroran in 1935
They were both teachers- Edward was a Headmaster
I have the 1901 & 1911 census for them, living with their family at Hollygrove Killeroran Galway
I really would like the BMD details of Edward & Bridget's parents.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you
Tilly Budd

Hi Tilly
There is a baptism record of Edward Somers 1856 Roscommon on www.rootsireland.ie/
The record will have the parish and HOPEFULLY one or both parents' names
The site requires credit to be purchased.

There is also a record of Bridget Doud 1853 Galway

Thank you very much Tom for your surprise helpful e-mail & attachment.
Bill found Edward's parents for me on RootsIreland
I did have the names of Edward & Bridget's children. I'm grateful for the names of Edward's siblings. I would love to know what Edward's parents & grandparents did for a living..
My great aunt, Mary Eleanor Somers ,( Edward's eldest daughter) was a teacher/headmistress
She taught in quite a few places in England
She lived with my parents & us 5 kids in Burnage Manchester for a time after she was retired. She was known to us kids & our friends as Auntie
One of her brothers lived in Chorlton Manchester, we don't know which one.
.Her youngest brother, known to us as Ambrose died aged 16/18
Thanks for info re husband/wife teacher team & them having a house
Teresa..
