my grandmother was born in ballinakill county laois around 1880 she moved to england harrogate but went back during the second world was for around three years she had a baby my mother born out of an affair and the church i think placed her in dublin around 1918/1919 never been able to get any information on my mother her name at birth was kathleen holdsworth born 11.11.1918 so any information on either would be good.

It might be a good idea to write to the Department of Health and Children in Dublin and seek access via a Freedom of Information request to the Institutional and Related Records Project Database. The staff should be able to run a search to see if there is any mention of your grandmother, or at least rule is out as a potential source of information
