We are looking for any links to Robert Munro / Monro born in Ireland circa 1827. Scottish census records show he married Sarah Antney (Tait) in Bathgate, Edinburgh on 16th July 1847 and had 4 children (James, John, Sarah & Robert). His place of birth is stated at Co. Antrim, Ireland and on another geneaology website as Piland, Ireland. He died in Cumbria in 1882.
We have no details as to why he travelled to Scotland or what date, whether he was with his family or alone. Were records kept of families leaving Ireland for Scotland and what would be the likely route taken? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
