I am looking for the baptismal place of one James William Goulden, born in Belfast  1828. He migrated to Australia and married Maria Wauchope in 1857 at Sydney, Australia.

  • Hi,

Saw your other 2 posts, and just in case, posted a copy this here as well

The Irish Genalogy Toolkit http://www.irish-genealogy-toolkit.com/index.html has great articles on how the records are compiled in Ireland. The guide helps a person through suggestions, pointers, and will enable your search results. Records are compiled through a large variety of repositories but depend on a variety of variables, such as immigration dates, religious preference, Township, etc... Can you track down the type of burial James or Maria had?

Some records might be under a variant of the spelling This site can help to find out what spellings there are in Ireland. http://www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/surname/

I'm not certain where you are located, but there is an article found that might give some clues on how to approach the australian end of the search. http://www.nma.gov.au/audio/transcripts/NMA_Mcintyre_20110629.html

The National Archives of Ireland has many links to further assist you in your endeavour.
