I am trying to locate the Parish for Henry Agnew and family. I only know they came from County Antrim.

Henry was born in 1811. He married Eleanore McCloy, born 1817. They had three children: Jennette, born 1836. Margaret, born 1838 and William, born 1847. They left Ireland in 1848 for Canada. They settled in Hay Township, province of Ontario (then known as Canada West)

Canadian Census for 1861 cites them as being Presbyterian (Church of Scotland). Henry claimed to be a Farmer/Carpenter.

Any clues or information is much appreciated.

The births and marriage were long before the start of statutory registration of births in Ireland and so won?t be recorded centrally. You might find them in church records, if they have survived, but to do that you need to know which church they attended.

Unfortunately Agnew is an extremely common name in Co Antrim ? there are 923 people of that name in the county in the 1901 census - and the majority of the population of the county are Presbyterian (being of Scottish descent) and so it?s a bit of a needle in a haystack. Ideally you need to find something in Canadian records that pinpoints where in Antrim they lived. Usual sources are censuses, wills, obituaries, gravestones, military records etc.
