My great grandfather, Archibald Edward Delargey was born in 1843 in Ballymena, we believe. Although the towns of Cushendun and Cushedall were often spoken about by family members as well in the early years.

His parents were Patrick Delargey and Mary McLean.

Archibald had a brother called Neal / Neil who left Ireland with Archie to travel to NZ.

I have found records of their UK Ireland MAsters and MAtes certificates which state birth place as Cushendale.

We have tried to locate records of his baptism, shipping list and also records of his parents but no such luck.

I would very appreciate  any support that can be given

I looked on Roots Ireland but did not find a baptismal record for Archibald. The 1862 Griffiths Valuation listing does show a Patrick Delargy in Foriff townland in Layd civil parish which is the parish for Cushendall. Not sure if your Patrick was still alive in 1862 but this could be him.

Our Co. Antrim expert may have additional thoughts later.
