I am trying to find out more about my Gt Gt Gt Grandfather John Finn born I believe in Baltinglass 1808 - 1812 he married a Eliza Shaughnessy. Havent been able to find a date for this yet. I think they may have moved to Thurles Tipperary and had son Patrick ( My Gt Gt Grandfather) . John & Eliza may have gone to USA late 1800s but I do not have any details. Can anyone help.

Hi Heather,
There is a record of the baptism of John Finn 1815 in Wicklow but the parish is not Baltinglass on www.rootsireland.ie/.
There are 2 records of Patrick Finn with father John & mother Eliza (not Shaughnessy) 1818 & 1827 in Tipperary (not Thurles parish though). there are 4 others in other counties: 1831 Limerick 1865 ? 1868 Armagh & 1868 Tyrone None of these seem to fit a father born in 1815
The Tithe Applotments which are free to search online has 28 Finns in Wicklow including 3 in Ballyglass in 1824.
I couldn't find the marriage anywhere either.
If you can access ancestry.com there are 2 family trees (Horan / Kirkham and Haylett) which show that they went to England and lived in Sheffield Yorkshire but neither has details of their marriage or arrival.
