I am trying to find any information on my great grandmother's (Eliza Donnelly) family.  Her father's name was James Donnelly and her mother's name was Bridget O'Donnell. Eliza was born about 1848.  Sometime between 1848 and 1870 Eliza moved to Roe, Dunbartonshire, Scotland where she married in 1870 to Thomas Cassells (also of Ireland).  I got her parents info from the marriage record.  Any information you can give me will be greatly appreciated.  Thank you for your time.

The Griffiths Valuation survey was conducted in Co.Carlow in 1852. There were two James Donnelly records in Co. Carlow. One lived in Castlemore townland, Fennagh civil parish. The other record was for a James Donnelly in Ballysallagh Lower townland in Hacketstown civil parish. Possibly your James was one of the two. FYI. There was a Donnelly family living in Castlemore in 1901. www.nationalarchives.ie

If James and Bridget did not go to Scotland with Eliza, you can search www.familysearch.org for death index records.
