I am related via DNA to Thomas Mulligan married to Dorothy Leatham on the 1821 census. Thomas and family went to Canada about 1822. My ancestor James Mulligan was born in 1840. James must be a descendant of a brother or cousin of Thomas who remained in Ireland, at least for a while. Can anyone give me information about this famly? Thank you.

I looked at the 1856 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Castleterra civil parish. There were five Mulligan records.
Castleterra RC records do not begin until 1862.
