I have searched the Index of Townlands and Towns, Parishes and Baronies of Ireland 1851 and Drunleigh is not listed as a townland. As you can see from the link below though, there is a Civil Parish in Co. Clare named Drumline:

This may be the correct parish given the phonetic spelling that was often used when form filling, especially as many people couldn?t read or write. Drumline is located between Ennis and Limerick near Bunratty. Records for the corresponding Roman Catholic Parish of Newmarket/Kilnasoolagh begin in 1828. There are some places where you can search online, however these websites do not have complete collections and many do not cover the period after 1900:

www.familysearch.org has a huge database of genealogical records including some church records for Ireland.

www.rootsireland.ie have a large collection of Irish Church records, however you have to pay to use this site.

thankyou for the clues to follow.

A friend who has a subscription to rootsireland has found a possible baptism for Thomas and Julia's eldest child, Catherine.

It is listed as Catherine CARRIGG, to parents Thomas and Joan with a baptism date of 17 March 1849.  this date corresponds with the age of Catherine on the shipping records.  The address is listed as Clonroad and was a Roman Catholic baptism.

I have looked up the Griffiths valuation but as they arrived in Australia in 1850, I cannot find anyone with the CARRICK or CARRIGG surname in the Drumline listing at this stage.

I will continue to follow up leads as they arise.
