Re earlier message regarding Bridget Anne Murray and Anthony Malone.

They lived in Cloonbony, Milltown Malbay, KIlfarboy and had their 10 chn between 1848 and 1865. I have the chn's baptismal information and Anthony's death certificate. Also the names of the ships on which they travelled to SA and USA.

I am trying to find Anthony and Anne's relatives.

  • Hello

I read Toni's comments on the Murray family who emigrated to South Afica.  My father was John Thomas McGuane.  His father was Martin McGuane (1879).  Martin was the son of Thomas McGuane and Catherine Earls.  I note that the sponsors for two of their children were James and Michael Murrary. Also Margaret Dundon (the sister of my grandmother Bridget Dundon) married Michael Murrary and from 1905 thru to 1926 they had ten children.  These children were my father's first cousins.  I remember my Dad telling me that prior to the outbreak of WW1 Martin McGuane was planning to join his family in South Africa but he was killed in 1915. I cannot say that Toni's Murray family are directly related to my family but if they have information on either their connection with Thomas McGuane/Catherine Earls or Margaret Dundon I would love to hear from them.  When my Dad emigrated to Australia in 1957 he met a cousin called Madge (her married name was O'Dea) - perhaps she was also a Murrary.

  • Hello Mary, I don't know if you received my last post so I'm trying again.

My Malone/Murray Family went to South Australia not South Africa.

Is South Australia  the same connection with your family?

    Regards,

    Toni
