Hello and thank you for your past help on my Meade family. It's due to the generous help of those I've met here that I am able to provide more detailed information about the Meere family.

My GGGrandmother, Marie Meere was born in Ballylean, Killadysert, Clare in 1854. We believe her mother's surname would be Walsh. I have the following information: she married John Meade in 1876. She bore 11 children, 6 of whom were alive in the 1901 and 1911 census records.

Marie died in 1928 and is buried with her husband in Kilchreest Cemetery. I have birth records for sons Patrick and John, as well as daughter Bridget who died at about age 18. I' a also learned that a brother James went to the US and brother Martin died in 1980. He lived in Tonovoher with his sister's family  (Browne's or Moloneys)

Can anyone help locate Marie Meere's family of origin? I do not know who her parents were or siblings.

Warmest regards,

Beth

    Sorry for the delayed reply.

The 1855 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Killadysert civil parish shows a Patrick Meer in Ballylean townland.  http://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/clare/killadysert.htm

Likely this is the father of Marie.

The Killadysert RC church records are not online. Later this summer the National Library of Ireland plans to put all RC parish registers online for free searching. I would search the records at that time to find siblings and the parents names.
