Is there anyone reading this messge who is close to Bridgetown graveyard, County Clare?  I am searching for old graves and headstones from this graveyard.  I was wondering if there was anyone living neaby who might be willing to have a look around for me.   There is nothing on line unfortunately.

  • Hi:

I don't live too far from Bridgetown.  If you give me a few weeks, I can take a look for you.

Let me know what you are looking for exactly.

    Kind regards,

    Jane.

  • Hi Jane,

If you do get to the graveyard, could you look for any Slatterys? The first names would be Anne Carey Slattery ( about 1906), John Slattery ( after 1911), Cornelius & Bridget Slattery and even a James and Margaret Slattery.

There were so many Slatterys in Killokennedy, that I'm sure there must be some still in the area. Wish I could figure out how to find which ones are distantly related to our Slatterys in the USA.

    Thanks in advance,

    Colleen

  • Hi Jane

I too have been looking for info about Bridgetown graveyard, specifically any Skehan graves. It's hard to find any info about the graveyard online, bit I did manage to spot in on Google Maps. There seem to be around 20 headstones, so hopefullly it would be quite straightforward to check.
