My Great-grandmother, Mary Ann Jane Warrant was one of 44 young women from the Kilrush Workhouse sent to Tasmania on the ship Beulah in 1851. I have been able to trace her back to South Creegh, Kilmacduane where her family were evicted from their home. The Eviction Records state that her family consisted of 5 Males & 2 Females. Her Father's name was George and I am assuming that the others were May and her Mother and most likely 3 Brothers.

I was wondering whether any others of the family survived and what there fate was.

I have posted her story on the County Clare Library website along with the Passenger Lists for the Beulah and another shipload of Famine Orphans, the Calcutta. Her story can be found at http://www.clarelibrary.ie/eolas/coclare/genealogy/don_tran/fam_his/mary_ann_jane_warrant.htm

Any information would be appreciated as i am planning a trip to Ireland and want to visit the area.

Go raibh maith agaibh,

Ian Beard
