James was born in 1838 in Tullycrine and was part of this parish, He emigrated to New Zealand in 1860. I believe his brother Patrick and a cousin Thomas also came out

  • I take it you have already tried rootsireland.ie to see if there is any record for his baptism? You might be able to narrow it down to an estimated birth year range

  • Hi 10dillon,

Delighted to see your post as I am researching these Dillons. Did he have a son John who married a Margaret Fennessy? John and Margaret are buried in St Bathans too, so I took a chance that maybe James was his father, but it could be Patrick. Please do get in touch. Or if you have info on Leonard John or Briton Edward as I have information on those. They are sons of Jack & Maggie

  • Thank you Martin,

It's great to find that my hunch was correct. In fact just before i saw your reply I had found Ann's, will giving those names, but still could not be sure it was the correct John. The family that I know about is the Kennedy family, so I can put you in touch with your 2nd cousins, which is really close. So hopefully you can get in touch through my email.
