Hi All,

Trying to trace my GGGrandfather John Nicholson on the 1881/91 Census it has him coming from Co Cavan.

I have found a marriage for him John Nicholson married in Co. Cavan and also in Co. Dublin in 1873 but I do not have this record.

He married Ellen Rooney who was from Co Kildare.

I have not found a record for his Birth in Co. Cavan or hers in Co Kildare.

Any help please appreciated.

  • Yes that's a great site I have found on my husband's side
    His Grandmother was:
    Ellen Nicholson 1885 Dublin who's parents were John NICHOLSON /Elizabeth Barnwell. Sponsor Mary Anne NICHOLSON
    might be a relative

  • Thanks to you both, I dont think this is my Relative Rita. But the the 2 Baptisms from the church Information are mine thanks again 'gergoode' . However, I still need to go further back to the original Question. I believe there was a marriage in the Aron Quay area, which needs investigation.
