The National Library of Ireland has Parteen R C registers for marriages (free)1821-36 & 1847-77 & John & Mary's marriage is probably about 1843!

The Tithe Applotments have 2017 Hynes in Clare in 1827 but Parteen & Glounacruss are not mentioned! Same with Griffiths Valuation 1855.

No luck in the early Irish Censuses.

Thankyou so much Col.The Hynes and O'Brien families are the biggest brick wall in my family tree.Is the name of the church the boys were baptised in available.
I will definitely add Parteen to the list of places to visit next time I'm in Ireland.
I still need to search for John and Mary.
I wonder if they came out to Australia or not?

I floundered around trying to find churches near Glounagruss but couldn't even find the place itself!!

Obviously I'm not a Clare expert & don't want to misinform you so I suggest you may want to check out the Clare Roots Society & also the Clare Tourist Information sites.

I did find a reference to Gleancross which is 'on the slopes of the Cratloe Hills' so wondered if Glounagruss may have been a later version - pure supposition of course! If it is then the Cratloe R C churches may be relevant. 

This also cropped up:

Kilquane Graveyard is situated around the site of the church ruin in the parish of St. Patrick’s in Parteen. It is located in the back of the Shannon Banks Estate in Corbally and is on the Clare bank of the river Shannon.[2]
