Hello.  I have a lot of photographs of Kilquane and was wondering if you would like me to upload them for your/members use?

  • Hi Gerry

Thanks for the very kind offer. If you hold the copyright (ie are in a position to share) and would like me to create a news page to host some of them, I would be delighted to do so. You can contact me at cdoyle@irelandxo.com

Hope all is well with you

    Best wishes

  • Dear Gerry,

Roger from XO gave me your link and I am hoping that you might be able to help.

My gt gf Patrick O'Connor died in 1917 and is said to have been buried in Kilquane Graveyard, Parteen, alongside his young son Jeremiah, who also died in 1917.

Did you come across therin names in your project?

I have been trying to locate the graveyard on the map online and only found Knockballynameath where I thought it should be.

My relatives are telling me Kilquane, Parteen. They suspect that the graves were sold on as they were unable to find anything.

    Thanks

    Diana

  • Hi Diana:  you might be interested in the following link which has information about the headstones in Kilquane.  https://limerickslife.com/kilquane/. A very good local volunteer would also be able to shed light on this graveyard too.  I'll pass this on.  In addition, Limerick Diocese has a website which has information available on the graveyards in the diocese.  Their link is here:  http://limerickdioceseheritage.org/ParteenMeelickCoonagh.htm.
    All the best,
