My GGGGrandparents Thomas Myers and Catherine Meaney married in this parish on the 24 March 1851.  Thomas and his brother Matthew arrived in Victoria, Australia on the 'British Queen' in May 1853 and Catherine Myers(Meaney) and infant followed on the ship 'Salem' in March 1854. From Thomas' death certificate I know his parents were John Myers and Bridget Quinlan and because of this I found a sister of Thomas' baptised in Parteen on 10 Aug 1834 as 'Mary Mires' although I have been unable to find any other records. Neither the marriage certificate, nor the death certificate of Catherine show any parents for her. Hoping there are some descendants who coould share more light on these families. Thanks.

  • Hello again!

Parteen RC baptismal records start in 1831 and are on Roots Ireland (one of only seven Co. Clare parishes on Roots). I did a search and the only record that came up was the Mary record that you have.   http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0887

Marriage records are not on Roots but you may want to scan the register since marriage records start in 1814 with one small gap.

Also, did not find a baptismal record for Catherine on Roots.
