  • Annie Frances Farrell was born 1857 I believe. No source.  I found handwritten note with her date of Baptism 3 August 1857. Sponsers: Michael Buttler and Honora Farrell.   Honora may be a cousin or even a sister to Annie.  She had a sister Mary Agnes Farrell, Spinster. b. 1 Jan 1845, unsourced.  I think Mary & Honora came to Australia in the late 1860si (around 17 or 18 in age) and Annie followed. Residing in Sydney. Mary lived in Sydney with Annie until she died at the age of 92.(1937).

I noticed I made a mistake in saying my great great grandfather as William.   It is JAMES FARRELL. His wife is Beatrice McNamarra.

  • Dear Kathleen:

I have had a look for you in the Quin registers, but can find nothing that looks even remotely close.

In addition, I extended that search to Ennis registers (online at www.ennisparish.com).

The only Farrell that comes up close are 2 entries:

    1.  Mary Farrell b. 14 August 1848

    Father:  Pat Farrell

    Mother:  Mary Farrell

    2.  Mary Farrell b. 16 June 1852

    Father:  Patrick Farrell

    Mother:  Mary Silver.

    There is nothing in Quin.

If you get any new information or need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.

    Kind regards,

    Jane.

  • Thank you once again Jane for searching.

It's a mystery!   Co.Clare was the county on my Great grandmother's marriage certificate and also death certificate.  I was surprised when I saw it because my grandmother always maintained her mother was from Co.Cork.  Could you look there?  Should I edit my entry to Co.Cork?

    Awaiting your answer.

    Cheers

    Kathleen
