i just saw your message.  You might have a look at the website www.crusheen.com.  It has the parish register transcribed up until 1909 and the school registers done as well.  In addition, you might also check out the website for Clare County Library. (Www.clarecountylibrary.ie/genealogy).  They have a lot of very useful links.

it also appears to me from your message that you might have a Tulla connection.n I note in the parish registers that there is a Jane Reddan married to a Lau Coffee who baptized a daughter Sarah on 14 May 1826.  The townland is not Kilgobbon, but that townland is located in Tulla parish.  I will make further inquiries for you and get back to you in the next week or so.

Thank you for the links. I have accessed Co. Clare library before.  It is very comprehensive. I will take up the Crusheen link though as well.

I have recently visited Clare Library in Ennis and have obtained a copy of the record of the marriage of Jane Reddin and Patrick Coffey in a church in Quin-Clooney in April 1839. I have also visited Quin and seen the new church and abbey. I assume the nearby ruined building maybe the former church they were married in.

That is great.  I don't know what date that church ruin in Clooney is. It is referred to as a ruin on the i1842 maps.  Glad that you made some progress.
