Hello. My cousin tells me that her father (Oliver MacINERNEY) parents Thomas MacINERNEY and Ellen CONLON / CONNELAN are buried in the graveyard st Tulla.

We think they were 50ish and 39 respectively when he was born in 1927. Thomas's father was Denis MacINERNEY.

I was wondering if there is any site with monumental inscriptions etc so we can find more.  Thanks

  • Dear Rachel:

Many thanks for your post to the Ireland Reaching Out message board.

Both graveyards in Tulla have been recorded and digitised through the Historic Graves project.  The link for that site and the Tulla graveyard is listed below:

It is possible that it is the grave listed below which has a Denis McInerney named on the headstone.  However, note that there are other McInerney headstones and you can search for them through the site.

    Kind regards,

    Jane.

  • Jane - thank you, that is fantastic. I am seeing many other linked names - CONLON, Considine, Moroney too.

    Dear Rachel:

That's great!!  The project was a wonderful boost to our Reaching Out work and has been viewed all over the world.  We are presently working on the Historic Homesteads in the parish along with our parish survey .  Those will be available to view in the next few weeks under the memory trail.  Www.thememorytrail.com.                       Please keep in touch!  All the best,  Jane
