Hi,

Looking for more info on my ancestors and their families. John Moylan and Margaret O'Shea married in the Roman Catholic Chapel of Tulla on Jan 26 1875 by Denis Sheehan. I have their marriage record but precious little else about them. John is listed as a tailor, son of David Moylan (a garden labourer), Margaret, a spinster, pensioner's daughter of Michael O'Shea. There is a Teresa O'Shea listed as a witness, but I don't know how she is related.

John and MArgaret, with a son George, emigrated to Australia in 1876.

Any geneological information, or details about their lives in Ireland, you can provide will be gratefully received.

Kind regards, Stephen Moylan

  • Hi Stephen:

Many thanks for your query to Ireland Reaching Out.  George Moylan was baptised on 3 January 1876 as can be sseen from the baptism entry in the parish register for Tulla.

You will note that his residence is Tulla and godparents were George Shea and Johanna Markham.  Do you have dates of birth (approximate or even years) for John and Margaret?  If so, you can email them to me at:  tulla@irelandxo.com and I will have a further look for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jane.
