I am trying to trace my ancestor Martin Sullivan. His arm records show he was born in Tulla, Clare on, or around 11 November 1841. His marrage certificate shows his father as Owen Sullivan Cooper.

The next record I have of Martin shows him in the 1871 census in Wales living in barracks. Interestingly he became a Welch Fussillier, by 1871 he was a buglar and 1881 shows him as a Sgt. Drummer. I believe that upon his retirement he was the band leader. Considering Tullas history with their bands I would be interested to find out if they were in existance in the 1840s, I would be interested to try and see if they influenced Martin beyond Tulla.

Thankyou Jenny
