  • Hello Ida,

I am assuming that your ancestors were from co. cork as you have listed a parish or townsland?

The church records for Co.Cork are between two websites.   www.irishgenealogy.ie  (free)  covers South Cork.

    www.rootsireland.ie  covers north cork.

You shoud find your people on one of these.  Keep a very open mind on  your dates of birth.  Most emigres were uneducated, undocumented and hadn't a clue what age they were.  IN ports of arrival they took a guess as to what age they were.

    Hope this helps,

    regards,

    Anne

  • Hi Moesmom,

just to let you know a group of researchers have started working on the Ireland reaching Out Project in Ballinaboy, i have sent your message to John L who is going to look into it for you. If you have any other details which may be of use could you send them on and i will pass them on to John also?

ballinaboy Graveyard was surveyed recently and the headstones can be viewed here. There seem to be a lot of Murphys burried there but no Maloneys.
