Hello!

I am looking for information on John J. Murray of Crosshaven. He was born Feb. 1868. He married a Margaret Blute of Kinsale, born 1864. 

I am not positive but I believe he immigrated to the United States in 1886. He may have left on a ship named "Catalonia" from Queenstown, Ireland. 

I am trying to find out who his parents were, or really just any information about him. I've hit a brick wall when it comes to this line of my family and if there is any information out there I'd be really grateful!

  • I looked up all the John Murray births which were registered in 1868. There was only one birth registered in the Kinsale district electoral diviaion where Crosshaven is located. The index data is below. You would have to write to the GRO www.groireland.ie  and request a copy of this record. Use the form on the web site and provide the registration year and volume and page number. The parents names and townland should be shown on the record you get back. No guarantee this is your John but it is worth reviewing the record.
