I could not find a townland called Carnahinch so possibly it was a place name that did not become an official townland.

I looked on the 1833 Tithe Applotment listings for Doneraile and although there were Duanes in the parish, there was no Timothy. http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/search/tab/results.jsp?…

I also looked at the 1852 Griffiths Valuation listing for Doneraile http://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/cork/doneraile.htm

There were a number of Duane records including a Timothy in Kilvickanease townland. Not sure if this is your ancestor.

I would look throught the marriage records to see if you see any of the Duane daughters or Denis.

Thanks Roger. I have used many of these websites without much luck. I have located the marriage of Timothy and Ellen and the births of all their children, many of, if not all, were born in Cornahinch which was on the road to New Twopothouse, south-east of Doneraile. Their daughter, Mary, was born in Cahirduggan, Doneraile. I have found various references to Timothy Duane in the other websites you mention concerning land they rented but do not know how to use these references to further my research. Apart from Johanna, there are no references to the others as having married, or died. I have been unable to find any birth details of Timothy, though I have found possibly Ellen Madden birth details in a neighbouring county - I forget where as I do not have my Family Tree to check at this moment.

Well, I have been investigating the oldest of Timothy's and Ellen's children - Mary, baptised in May 1817. I came across a Mary Duane who married in Kildorrery in February 1838. She married a James Duane - which intrigued me. They had 8 children - 3 of whom bore the names of Mary's siblings. Of these 8, 4 had sponsors with the same name as Mary's siblings, 1 had a sponsor with same name as Mary's mother. They all had an address in Ballyvesteen, Kildorrery. Do not know what to make of it? Johanna, Mary's sister, did marry James Noonan in Kildorrery. Another link?
