I am researching the follwing lines in Doneraile and surrounding areas. With a particular interset in John Fitzgerald born c 1884 to 1886 . His father a tailor also named John. Have two possible but need to identify which is my ancestor.

Not exactly sure what your asking for, but I will start wtih - 2xGreat Grand Julia Riordan was Baptised 1862 in Doneraile. Parents Timothy R and Ellen Murray, married Mourneabbey,and siblings Baptsed Glatane.

My ancestors were the Reading family of Doneraile - eg gt-gt-grandfather Thomas Riordan Reading born 1811 Doneraile according to his obituary (in Adelaide, South Australia).
They were all baprised with the middle name of Riordan.
My great-aunt told me of a "mixed marriage" but I reckon that must have been back into the 1700s !! Boys brought up as Catholics and the girls as Church of Ireland (or the other way around?? - probably a tradition).
Gt-gt-grandfather married Martha Grant - in London.
It's very hard to find specific references.
