Hello,
I am rather new to this site and I'm hoping I am posting this in the correct parish. I am trying to link my ancestor, William Slingsby (1731-1786 birthplace unknown) to Sir Francis Slingsby, Knt of Kilmore. Sir Francis was also constable of Holyboling (sp?) Castle and the father of Fr Francis Slingsby, a martyr for the faith during the time of Cromwell. I am stuck, and I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks very much for your message. I hope that someone who is familiar with the area is able to help you. In the meantime it may be an idea to contact the Cork Historical and Archaeological Society to see if they can shed any light on the Slingsby?s or ?Holyboling castle?.
