My gr great grandfather was William John Hickey, born about 1835 in Cork. He had a son, Denis, born 1860 in Wales and Denis had a son William John, born 1887 in New Haven, CT. Hence, working backwards I wondered if the Elder William John;s father was Denis? I found one in Keale, Dromtarriff, Cork. This Denis married a Mary Murphey, and in further support of this being my family, they had Murphy boarders in Wales. A stretch, I know. I am looking for more information about this Elder Denis Hickey, born about 1810 I would guess or his wife Mary Murphey. The Younger william John married Ellen Horrigan (daughter of Daniel Horrigan and Catherine Callahan). I would welcome information about them as well, but have no idea where they were from. I would assume that the Elder Denis was born and died in Keale? also, his wife Mary Murphey Hickey, as I have not found them in Wales.
I have checked Griffiths Valuation and irishgenealogy, ie extensively.
