Hello,

I have been enjoying your site very much and have a couple questions.

I plan on visiting Ireland within the next year or so and hope to find some information on my family before the trip.

My great aunt put together our Donovan family history in the 1980's. The story begins:

"Four brothers and two sisters came from County Cork in the early 1840's. They were Cornelius, Jeremiah, Richard, Dennis, Mrs. Henry Mahoney, and Mrs. Jack Culligan."

Our family has been searching since then to find more about the siblings and to find something tying them to their homeland in Ireland.

We know about Richard Donovan. He is my 3rd great grandfather. He was born in 1815 and died in 1873 in Iowa, USA. He married Honora (O'Brien) Flanigan on 13 Aug 1848 in Iowa. Their children (in birth order) were Maurice, Cornelius, Jeremiah, Richard, Catherine, and Hanora>

Penciled in on the margins of the history is "Inchigeelagh." We have been searching for decades trying to find a parish, church, cemetery, any documents to show where their home was and wonder if Inchigeelagh is helpful in our search or not. Any insight would be so appreciated.

Also, I do hope to find the names of the Donovan sisters Mrs. Jack Culligan and Mrs Henry Mahoney.

Thank you so much for this site and for all the help you provide.
