Joseph E. O'Leary born Aug., 18, 1937; son of Daniel O'Leary; grand-son of Daniel O'Leary; great-grand son of Patrick O'Leary. Patrick born in or around Bantry, County Cork about 1810. I do not know exactly where in Bantry area but were knowen to be fisherman. A parish were they were members; is not known. It looks like they were members of eighter Bantry or Glengarriffe.

In 1841 Patrick, age 30, married Catherine Sullivan; her age was 16. Catherine Sullivan O'Leary was born on St. Patrick's day; March 17, 1825. She was the daughter of Jeremiah Sullivan and Margaret Shea Sullivan. Jeremiah and Margaret appear to have married in 1820's. They had two daughters  ; Catherine's sister married to John lehan. Patrick and Catherine emigated to America in 1847. It seems that both sisters and husbands emigated at the same time. Patrick and Catherine lived in Portage, Wisconsin; Mary Sullivan Lehan live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

I and my daughter are going to attend the O'Leary clan gathering in September. It will be held in Inchigeelagh. I would be greatful for any information given to this message. Thank you; Joseoh O'Leary

You may want to search a new Irish government site at www.irishgenealogy.ie There are a lot of Co. Cork church records on this site going back to the early 19th century.
