Just found this page; hoping to connect with cousins!  My Michael Collins married Catherine Dwyer about 1840.  I have found the birth records of their first three sons...James, Timothy, and Michael at the Kilbrittain church in 1841, 1844, and 1846.

Don't know when they emigrated exactly but they were listed in the 1850 U.S. Census in Boston, Massachusetts with a new baby born in 1849. So that narrows the timeframe from April 1846 to early 1849.  I fear that baby Michael may have died before the departure, or perhaps during the crossing as he does not appear on that census.

Michael (Sr) may have had siblings/cousins named Bridget, Catherine and Cornelius  while Catherine may have had siblings William and Daniel Dwyer as these are names listed as baptism godparents.

I am looking for any information on these folks especially their parents and siblings....grandparents, too.

Thank you,

Rita McSorley
