Searching for connections to descendents of Charles McCarthy and Ellen Shea (Shay). Known children are: Daniel b. abt 1810, Charles b. 20 May 1820, Denis b. abt 1823 and Catherine b. abt 1834. Charles married Catherin Sullivan in the US although she was from Balleydehob. Denis married Margaret Tobin in the US. She was from Whiddy Island. Daniel married Johanna Cronin in Ireland as their first child was born 9 Oct 1845. I have received what I believe to be her baptism records from the parish of West Schull. I believe there was at least one other brother named Florence as each of these brothers had sons named Florence. In Charles' line it was carried down to the present day

Joyce, this may or may not be of help. In 1841 Denis Shea and Ellen McCarthy were the baptisim sponsors for my realitive James Donoan jr( son of James Donovan and Julia Hennessey) at St Finbarr's catholic church. I find the Shea name associated with Donovan again in 1852, from the Griffith's valuation for Shandrum More. Listed are James Donovan and Denis, John, Daniel Shea.
